Adolescent Orthodontic Treatment in Plano, Tx

FOCUS ON INBRACE INSTEAD

Between the ages of 11 and 15 is the most common time for orthodontic treatment, and for good reason. By age 12, most, if not all, of the permanent teeth are in place and crooked teeth, gaps and bad bites are highly visible. We can often take advantage of the remaining growth to make the necessary orthodontic corrections and create an exceptional smile for your child. Since many of their friends are in braces at the same time, most adolescents LOVE being part of the braces crowd. After school visits at Infinite Orthodontics in Plano Texas can be lots of fun when kids see their friends from school, church or sports teams!

Different Types of Orthodontic Treatment:

Traditional Metal Braces:

Traditional metal braces are the most popular orthodontic treatment. Every time you think of braces, the first thought that comes to mind are those metal brackets with a wire across your teeth. patients with traditional braces require monthly dental visits because they need regular tightening so continuous pressure can gradually straighten your teeth and align your jaw.

Clear aligners:

Clear aligners, also known as Invisalign aligners, are the new trend orthodontists are using to help guide teeth into their proper position. Quite much like braces, clear aligners use a slow force to restrain tooth motion, however without metal brackets or wires. Made from a strong plastic material, each aligner is made uniquely to match each patient’s mouth. If a collection of aligners are desired, each aligner moves the teeth before the desired motion is attained.

Lingual/ Incognito Braces:

Lingual braces as similar to traditional metal braces as any other orthodontic treatment. The only difference is that lingual/ incognito braces are placed on the inside of the patients teeth. this hides the metal brackets & wires.
